id search but cant find a proper guide in choosing a bd.mostly is about identifying bd. hopefully sifus sifus here could share some lights about bd rays.
such as from juvenile , how would it look like when reach adult.
for choosing bd, which criterias need to pay attention? beside the spots on the rim and eye.
how about the spots on the body？bigger spots as possible or more condensed smaller spots?
is every bd will pop up TI eventually？
i saw some bd recently , and some with big spots but the rim is less while some have more condensed spots all over including rim. all also i think is very beautiful but of course i cant get it all.
so i hope sifus could guide us newbies in choosing a bd out from those affordable batches. there is a pair with big and condensed spots which the white are more than black selling for rm26k which is definitely out of the league for a lot hobbyists. so we all can just get something from the lower range.
by tht affordable range , how can we find a better quality bd? even worse some lfs selling bdleo as pure bd and what make bdleo not bd? i thot both are p13? is like chinese father and chinese mother , son wont become angmoh,rite?
its way complicated to choose a ray than an arowana. any opinions an enlightenment?in fact ways of choosing other rays like p14,pearls etc would be good too.
i felt that this knowledge is very helpful for newbies ray keeper . TIA

borrow a pic from the lfs. hopefully its not illegal.
both are term as bd. but mostly i saw bros and sifus bd are the one like the first apir. the second pair below also bd? but their spots are not rounded. while the first one spots are big but the rim like have few spots compared to the second pair.
any opinion and guides choosing these?

Once this hypothesis has been establish, its easy to scout for rays
However on general, the best guide is to choose a ray which is feeding, doesnt look stun and healthy
>Buy what you are comfortable with. There is no fix guide to identify a pure bd. Even if it satisfy all the criteria of a bd, it may not be pure and vice versa. Thus if you like the rays and can afford it, its all that matters.

>hi bro , i think that u should buy what ever u like , not what is a bd or not bd. for example , if u like a very beautiful BDLEO and u want to buy but then u think again and say its not bd thus i dont want . i want to buy a BD. when u see that BD , it may not be something that u really like but u still buy because it is branded as BD. at the end of the day even if u buy an SP / designer ray that u really like the design its ok as it would be u who is going to view them daily. i believe that we are all hobbyist and should buy what ever we want and like as we are not doing this for commercial sales etc but for our own viewing pleasure , to relax , lim kopi and watch our beautiful fishes... also another thing is different people classify differently also so for example a bd to me maybe something else to u and vice versa. IMO u should just buy what ever u like (: hope u find something u like and go for it , happy ray keeping.

as i would like to learn likewise is those with big spots will grew up into bigger spots? or those with more condensed smaller spots will grew up with more spots all over? the spots in the rim will grew? all bd will grow TI eventually?
summary is what pattern in juvenile will become what pattern in adult.

because rays morph and changed as well. but not much of us newbies nor info found can let us learn how the rays look like when they reach adulthood. im seeking some guides about this, because i wanna to know what i should expect when i get a bd. is it what i want in long term?
now usually we newbies get a juvenile which look good. but what if the ray grew up and doesnt meet our expectation. not to mean the ray ugly. all i mean is i bought a bd with big spots and doesnt knew bd could morph. after a year or so, the bd morph and i dont like the pattern. so its kinda disappointing rite?
so im thinking there will be some knowledge to guide us and let us roughly know how tht bd grew up will look like. so we can choose a ray we really want.
